Position Overview:
New Orleans area public schools are seeking qualified and passionate Elementary General Education Teachers for the 2025–2026 school year. Teachers in this role will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in core academic areas, including reading, writing, math, science, and social studies, to students in grades K–5. The ideal candidate is student-centered, collaborative, and committed to fostering academic excellence and a positive classroom culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging, grade-level appropriate lessons aligned with state standards
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
  • Use formative and summative assessments to monitor and support student progress
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Maintain regular communication with families regarding academic and behavioral progress
  • Collaborate with school staff and participate in professional learning communities
  • Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required
  • Valid Louisiana teaching certification for Elementary Education (Grades 1–5 or PK–3), or eligibility to obtain certification by the start of the school year
  • Experience teaching in an elementary school setting preferred
  • Strong instructional, organizational, and classroom management skills
  • Commitment to educational equity and student achievement
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Hourly pay: $35–$40, based on experience and credentials
