Job Description:
Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Science Teacher for a full-time position in New Orleans, LA. This school-based role is ideal for an educator who brings energy, curiosity, and a deep understanding of scientific concepts to the classroom. You’ll be responsible for designing and delivering engaging lessons in life science, physical science, or earth/space science—depending on grade level and assignment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement science lessons aligned with state standards and district curriculum
Foster critical thinking and inquiry through hands-on labs, experiments, and demonstrations
Create a classroom culture that encourages curiosity, respect, and academic rigor
Use data to assess student understanding and adjust instruction accordingly
Maintain accurate records, including grades, attendance, and progress reports
Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and parents to ensure student success
Incorporate technology and real-world applications to enhance learning
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field
Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate with a Science endorsement (or eligibility)
Strong classroom management and instructional planning skills
Familiarity with state science standards and assessment practices
Ability to pass background checks and fingerprinting
