Job Description:

Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Science Teacher for a full-time position in New Orleans, LA. This school-based role is ideal for an educator who brings energy, curiosity, and a deep understanding of scientific concepts to the classroom. You’ll be responsible for designing and delivering engaging lessons in life science, physical science, or earth/space science—depending on grade level and assignment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement science lessons aligned with state standards and district curriculum

• Foster critical thinking and inquiry through hands-on labs, experiments, and demonstrations

• Create a classroom culture that encourages curiosity, respect, and academic rigor

• Use data to assess student understanding and adjust instruction accordingly

• Maintain accurate records, including grades, attendance, and progress reports

• Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and parents to ensure student success

• Incorporate technology and real-world applications to enhance learning

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field

• Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate with a Science endorsement (or eligibility)

• Strong classroom management and instructional planning skills

• Familiarity with state science standards and assessment practices

• Ability to pass background checks and fingerprinting
