Qualifications and Preferred Background:

• Valid teaching license and Professional Educator License (PEL) requiredsubstitute licensure not accepted
• Health science endorsement preferred (will also consider strong backgrounds in chemistry, anatomy, or related sciences)
• Experience teaching general science or health science at the middle school level is highly desirable
• Strong communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for working with junior high students
• Ability to collaborate with fellow educators to create an inclusive and motivating classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement compelling health science curriculum aligned with state standards
• Teach a diverse caseload of junior high students through interactive lectures, labs, and activities
• Assess and monitor student progress, adapting instruction to meet varying learning needs
• Maintain a positive, organized, and safe learning environment
• Collaborate with school staff to enhance interdisciplinary learning and support student success
• Fulfill contract hours totaling 33.75 hours per week onsiteremote or virtual instruction is not an option
