Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and qualified English Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year to serve students in Sarasota, FL. The successful candidate will bring a strong command of English Language Arts (ELA), a commitment to student success, and the ability to foster a positive and engaging learning environment for a diverse student population.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging, standards-based English Language Arts lessons aligned with curriculum goals
Foster critical thinking, reading comprehension, and effective writing skills among students
Adapt instructional methods to meet the diverse learning needs of all students, including English language learners and students with special needs
Monitor and assess student performance through formative and summative assessments
Create a classroom culture that promotes student participation, inquiry, and a love for literature and communication
Collaborate with school staff and administration to ensure educational best practices and alignment with academic goals
Communicate regularly with families to support student growth and academic achievement
Participate in school events, professional development sessions, and faculty meetings
Maintain accurate records, including grades, attendance, and student progress reports
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field required
Valid Florida teaching license with endorsement in English (or eligibility for certification)
Previous classroom teaching experience preferred
Strong classroom management and instructional planning skills
Demonstrated ability to build meaningful relationships with students and colleagues
Commitment to continuous professional growth and equity in education
Ability to integrate educational technology to enhance instruction
