Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and qualified ESL (English as a Second Language) Teacher to support English Language Learners (ELLs) across K–12 grade levels for the 2025–2026 school year in Sarasota, FL. The ESL Teacher will work closely with students, families, and school staff to ensure students acquire English language proficiency and achieve academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging lessons tailored to the language proficiency levels and academic needs of English Language Learners
Use research-based ESL instructional strategies to support student development in reading, writing, speaking, and listening
Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide integrated support for ELLs across content areas
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on assessment data and language development goals
Maintain accurate records of student performance and participate in required documentation and reporting
Provide language development support in both pull-out and inclusive settings
Foster an inclusive, culturally responsive classroom environment
Communicate effectively with families and provide updates on student progress and strategies for home support
Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives to support multilingual learners
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
Valid Florida teaching certification with ESL endorsement (or eligibility to obtain)
Experience working with English Language Learners in K–12 settings preferred
Strong instructional and classroom management skills
Ability to work collaboratively with staff and communicate effectively with diverse student populations
Familiarity with WIDA standards and English language proficiency assessments is a plus
