Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic General Education Science Teacher to join our school-based team in Virginia Beach for the 2025–2026 academic year. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in science instruction, a passion for student success, and the ability to inspire and engage learners in a K–12 setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based science lessons that align with district and state curriculum
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs, including English language learners and students with IEPs
Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments and use data to inform instruction
Create and maintain a classroom environment that fosters inquiry, critical thinking, and a love of learning
Incorporate technology and hands-on activities into lessons to enhance student understanding
Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families to support student learning and development
Participate in school-based meetings, professional development, and parent-teacher conferences
Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field required
Valid Virginia teaching certification in Science or ability to obtain certification
Previous teaching experience preferred, particularly in a school setting
Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered instruction
Must meet all district and state employment requirements, including background clearance
