Now Hiring: Educational Interpreter

Location: San Jose, CA
Contract Dates: August 18, 2025 – June 5, 2026
Schedule: 30 hours per week | Part-Time
Setting: Onsite | K–12 Academic Environments

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Educational Interpreter to support deaf and hard-of-hearing students in educational settings. Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, the interpreter will provide highly specialized language interpretation and translation services in classrooms and school-related activities. This position is a vital part of the educational team.

Role Overview:

• Provide sign language interpretation in academic and social settings

• Facilitate effective communication between students, staff, and peers

• Support instructional goals by ensuring accessibility for DHH students

• Collaborate with general education and special education staff

• Maintain professional conduct and confidentiality at all times

Qualifications (Must meet one of the following):

• RID certification or equivalent
  OR

• Minimum score of 4.0 on one of the following assessments:

  • EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment)

  • ESSE-I/R (Educational Sign Skills Evaluation – Interpreting/Transliterating)

  • NAD/ACCI (National Association of the Deaf/American Consortium of Certified Interpreters)
