School Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse) in Kansas City, MO

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to students with varying medical challenges, including feeding, toileting, and seizure management
• Support classroom activities by administering personalized care, particularly for students with g-tubes, wheelchair dependence, and lifting needs
• Collaborate closely with another onsite nurse to ensure safety and continuity of care for approximately 50 students
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation of services provided throughout the school day
• Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents regarding student needs and updates on care plans
• Respond promptly and appropriately in medical emergencies

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid and current LPN or LVN license
• Prior experience in a pediatric, school, or special education setting preferred
• Comfortable managing g-tubes, seizure protocols, and assisting with mobility tasks (wheelchairs, lifting, transfers)
• Ability to work independently and adapt to a dynamic classroom environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and care coordination
