School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | New Britain, Connecticut

Discover a meaningful contract position supporting a medically fragile student in a dynamic school environment. This opportunity is located in the New Britain, CT area and is ideal for compassionate professionals who excel in one-on-one care settings. As an integral part of the educational team, you will work Wednesdays only, from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM, with an adjusted end time of 12:10 PM on early release days. Coverage is needed on select Wednesdays throughout the school year, through June 11.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid LPN license in Connecticut
• BLS/CPR certification required
• Experience as a School LPN, LPN/LVN, or Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) preferred
• Previous work with medically fragile or pediatric populations is an advantage
• Professional demeanor and commitment to confidentiality
• Reliability and the ability to work independently in a school setting

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 nursing care to a medically fragile student during the school day
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and manage medical needs as prescribed
• Collaborate with school staff and healthcare professionals to ensure the students safety and well-being
• Maintain accurate medical records in accordance with school and legal requirements
• Communicate effectively with families and multidisciplinary teams
