School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Nipomo, California

This onsite contract role offers the rewarding opportunity to provide hands-on care as part of a dedicated LVN Pool, with hours that coincide with the regular academic schedule and flexibility during extended session periods.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid and active CA LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) license required
• Previous experience in a school setting or working with pediatric populations is preferred
• Strong communication abilities for collaborating with educators, students, and families
• Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability within a fast-paced, changing environment
• Skilled at maintaining confidentiality and upholding professional standards

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct nursing care and administer medications or treatments per students medical plans
• Respond to health emergencies and offer first aid as needed during the school day
• Maintain accurate health records and communicate effectively with school staff and parents regarding student needs
• Participate as a valued member of the LVN Pool, rotating as necessary to meet the needs of different classrooms or school sites
• Document services and provide updates to nursing supervisors and school administrators
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504 Plans when appropriate

Candidates will work 32.5 hours per week during the regular academic year, averaging 6.5 hour days onsite. During extended year sessions, hours are assigned based on sign ups and district needs.
