Job Overview:
As an O&M Specialist, you will teach students who are blind or visually impaired how to safely and independently navigate their environments. This includes training in cane use, street crossings, orientation skills, travel techniques, and mobility tools. You will work closely with students across multiple grade levels, collaborating with educational teams and families to promote independence at school, at home, and in the community.
Georgia Requirements:
• Certification through ACVREP as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS)
• Ability to obtain or hold Georgia certification as a related service provider
• Experience working in educational or pediatric settings preferred
• Reliable transportation for travel between school sites if needed
