We are seeking a dedicated Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Specialist to join a school district team in Reno, NV for the current academic year. This is a full-time, onsite position serving a K-12 caseload of students with visual impairments.
Provide orientation and mobility instruction to students with visual impairments to promote independence and safe travel skills in various environments.
Develop and implement individualized student programs based on assessments, needs, and goals.
Collaborate with teachers, staff, families, and related service providers to support student success.
Conduct assessments and maintain accurate documentation to monitor student progress and inform IEPs.
Instruct students in the use of mobility tools and assistive technology to navigate their surroundings.
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational plans.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Orientation and Mobility or related field.
Valid ACVREP certification or state licensure as an O&M Specialist.
Experience working in school settings with K-12 students is preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
