What You'll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities): As a School-Based Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in helping students access their education and participate fully in the school environment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments to determine students' fine motor, gross motor, sensory processing, and self-care needs.
- Developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) and 504 plans, meticulously tailored to students' unique challenges.
- Providing direct and indirect therapy services to students, individually and in groups.
- Collaborating effectively with teachers, parents, and other school staff to seamlessly integrate occupational therapy strategies into the classroom and home environments.
- Adapting classroom environments and recommending assistive technology or adaptive equipment to enhance student participation.
- Monitoring student progress, maintaining accurate and timely records, and participating actively in team meetings.
- Providing valuable training and consultation to school personnel and families on topics such as sensory processing, fine motor development, and self-regulation.
Special Requirements:
- Active Educator License (ESA) is required, and you must be willing to obtain licensure in the working state.
