Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist supporting students on the western side of Wake County. This onsite role begins 30 days from offer and continues through June 9, 2027, with interviews underway and swift hiring expected. Youll play a pivotal part in enhancing student participation and academic performance through targeted OT interventions at elementary, middle, and high school levels.

Qualifications:

  • Current Occupational Therapist license from the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy (NCBOT)
  • Post-graduate degree in Occupational Therapy (Masters degree preferred)
  • Prior experience working in school-based settings
  • In-depth knowledge of commonly used standardized assessments in school-based OT
  • Proficiency in the Sensory Processing Measure2 (SPM-2) and Sensory Profile 2
  • Skilled in interpreting and applying assessment outcomes to educational programming
  • Ability to obtain NPI number and NC Tracks registration before start
  • Willingness to complete DCDEE fingerprinting and district background check

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct motor screenings, evaluations, and deliver direct therapy services to students as part of their educational programs
  • Complete documentation of services and reports as required by district policies
  • Collaborate closely with educational teams to align OT recommendations with state standards and curriculum needs
  • Manage a dynamically assessed caseload through a workload model, with monthly reviews to ensure balanced distribution
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions tailored to student goals and provide consultative support to staff and families
