Blazer Jobs is collaborating with school districts throughout Michigan to hire dedicated Occupational Therapists (OTs) for the 2025–2026 academic year. If you’re passionate about helping students build the skills they need for academic and personal success, this is your chance to work in a supportive educational environment and make a lasting impact.
As a school-based OT in Michigan, you’ll assess and treat students facing challenges in fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, and other areas that affect their ability to participate fully in school activities. You’ll work as part of a collaborative team to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
Current openings are available in Detroit, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Ann Arbor, Kalamazoo, and surrounding districts.
Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on student needs and IEP goals
Provide direct therapy services and consult with teachers on classroom accommodations
Monitor and document student progress according to Michigan Department of Education guidelines
Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals
Adjust interventions and strategies based on student performance and feedback
Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
Active Michigan OT license (or eligibility to obtain)
Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
Familiarity with IDEA and IEP development
Must meet Michigan background check and fingerprinting requirements
Full-time and part-time positions available
Contract duration: August 2025 – June 2026
