Occupational Therapist School Setting in Durham, NC

This on-site role offers a vibrant, year-round setting with a district that prioritizes a balanced workload and reassesses therapist assignments monthly to ensure optimal support for both professionals and students. Work in collaboration with educational teams across a range of campuses with caseloads managed through a comprehensive workload model.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Occupational Therapy license through the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy (NCBOT)
• Post-graduate degree in Occupational Therapy (Masters preferred)
• Demonstrated school-based experience; experience within North Carolina schools highly valued
• Proficiency with ECATS and IEP documentation is essential
• Familiarity with commonly used standardized assessments for school-based OT, notably Sensory Processing Measure2 (SPM-2) and Sensory Profile 2
• Solid knowledge of interpreting assessment results within an educational context
• Experience conducting motor screenings and OT evaluations related to academic programming
• Must obtain NPI number and register with NC Tracks prior to start date
• Ability to pass district background check and DCDEE fingerprinting

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver occupational therapy services and interventions directly aligned with student IEPs and state standards
• Conduct screenings, evaluations, and ongoing progress monitoring within assigned school sites
• Collaborate with special education teams to develop and implement tailored strategies that enhance students functional skills and participation in school environments
• Maintain comprehensive, accurate documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
