School Occupational Therapist | Edgewood, New Mexico

Exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist with a strong background in school-based OT practices! This contract position supports a caseload of 9 students, working in collaboration with educators and families to foster student growth and participation in school activities. The assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through May 28th, 2027, offering a consistent part-time schedule of 20-25 hours per week.

Desired Qualifications:

• Current New Mexico Public Education Department (NM PED) licensure
• Experience in a school-based Occupational Therapy role
• Ability to assess, plan, and implement OT services for students with diverse needs
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families
• Organizational skills to manage caseload documentation and scheduling efficiently

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate students referred for OT services and develop individualized treatment plans
• Provide targeted interventions to promote functional independence in academic settings
• Document progress, update goals, and maintain compliance with IEPs and district procedures
• Offer consultative support and training to teachers and support staff
• Participate in team meetings, contribute to student planning, and foster a positive learning environment
