Full Time School Based Occupational Therapist in Houston, TX

Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing for a full-time Occupational Therapist to join a school district in Houston, Texas, in an itinerant districtwide role. This position supports a caseload of approximately 60-65 students, with services ranging from direct therapy to consultative support. A key component of this role includes billing for Medicare and Medicaid services.

Qualifications (Local & State Requirements):

• Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program

• Active Texas Occupational Therapist license issued by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners (TBOTE)

• Certification or eligibility to provide related services in Texas public schools (Texas Education Agency requirements)

• Knowledge of billing procedures for Medicare and Medicaid in educational settings

• Experience managing large caseloads and varied service delivery models

• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Typical Responsibilities:

• Provide occupational therapy services including evaluation, intervention, and progress monitoring to students with diverse needs

• Deliver direct and consultative services based on individual IEP goals

• Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to maximize student outcomes

• Complete billing for Medicare and Medicaid according to district and state guidelines

• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with IDEA and Texas Education Agency standards

• Travel as needed across multiple school sites within the district
