Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing for a full-time Occupational Therapist to join a school district in Houston, Texas, in an itinerant districtwide role. This position supports a caseload of approximately 60-65 students, with services ranging from direct therapy to consultative support. A key component of this role includes billing for Medicare and Medicaid services.
Qualifications (Local & State Requirements):
Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
Active Texas Occupational Therapist license issued by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners (TBOTE)
Certification or eligibility to provide related services in Texas public schools (Texas Education Agency requirements)
Knowledge of billing procedures for Medicare and Medicaid in educational settings
Experience managing large caseloads and varied service delivery models
Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Typical Responsibilities:
Provide occupational therapy services including evaluation, intervention, and progress monitoring to students with diverse needs
Deliver direct and consultative services based on individual IEP goals
Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to maximize student outcomes
Complete billing for Medicare and Medicaid according to district and state guidelines
Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with IDEA and Texas Education Agency standards
Travel as needed across multiple school sites within the district
