Occupational Therapist School Setting in New Orleans, LA

Embark on a rewarding opportunity supporting students in a dynamic academic setting near New Orleans, Louisiana! This is a full-time contract position engaging with a diverse PreK8th grade caseload in a vibrant school environment. You will work onsite, collaborating with a Physical Therapist and Adapted Physical Education specialist in a shared office, while also receiving weekly assistance from a COTA. This collaborative atmosphere fosters a supportive professional community focused on student success.

Qualifications:

• Hold active Occupational Therapy licensure in Louisiana
• Experience in pediatric or school-based settings is strongly preferred
• Comfortable managing caseloads across a broad age range (PreK8th grade)
• Skilled at collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including PTs, APEs, and COTAs
• Strong communication and organizational abilities
• Committed to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for students with varied needs
• Work directly with students onsite to support their educational and functional goals
• Document progress and communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and team members
• Adapt interventions as needed to maximize student participation and achievement
• Consult and collaborate with educators and staff on best practices and accommodations
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide expert guidance related to OT services
