School Occupational Therapist | Newark, Delaware

Embark on an exciting contract opportunity as an Occupational Therapist supporting students in a dynamic and collaborative educational environment. From August 25, 2026 through June 8, 2027, youll provide vital OT services onsite across select elementary, middle, and high school locations within the greater Wilmington, DE area. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on students ability to participate and thrive within their academic settings.

Three positions are available, each serving a unique caseload:

• Split assignments between Lancashire and Maple Lane Elementary
• Dedicated service at Mount Pleasant Elementary
• Split caseload spanning both middle and high school students

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Delaware Occupational Therapist license (required for consideration)
• Previous experience working with school-aged children in an academic environment preferred
• Strong collaboration skills with educators, families, and other school-based professionals
• Solid knowledge of best practices in school-based OT assessments and interventions
• Excellent organizational and documentation abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct, document, and interpret OT evaluations and ongoing assessments of students
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and interventions
• Support student participation in school routines and classroom tasks
• Collaborate actively with teachers, families, and IEP teams
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with state and district guidelines
• Provide consultative support and training for school staff as needed

Additional Details:

• Full-time, Monday through Friday: 37.5 hours per week (30-minute unpaid lunch)
• Candidates must pay $85 for required CBC fingerprinting and acknowledge this prior to submission
• Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) applications cannot be considered for these openings
