School Occupational Therapist | Norwich, Connecticut

Make an impact this school year in a dynamic contract opportunity supporting elementary students in a dedicated Autism program. This part-time position (22.5 hours/week, Monday through Friday) runs ASAP through June 2027 and offers the chance for either a licensed Occupational Therapist or two Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants to join a caring multidisciplinary environment.

In this role, youll focus on direct intervention for around 50 students across five classrooms located in three buildings, working closely with teachers and staff to promote meaningful skill development and progress.

Desired Qualifications:

• Current Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) licensure in Connecticut
• Previous experience with pediatric, school-based, or Autism Spectrum student populations preferred
• Strong understanding of evidence-based therapeutic strategies for children with autism
• Collaborative spirit and excellent communication skills
• Organized, flexible, and proactive with caseload management

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct OT services within elementary Autism program classrooms to support fine motor, sensory, and self-regulation goals
• Collaborate with special education teachers, related service providers, and families for holistic student support
• Conduct regular assessments, develop IEP goals, and monitor progress
• Document and report on student progress in accordance with school and district requirements
• Travel as needed between school sites for comprehensive coverage
