School Occupational Therapist | Pelham, Alabama

Make an immediate impact by supporting students success through school-based occupational therapy. This contract assignment runs through June 10, serving multiple schools in the Birmingham area with a diverse and engaging caseload.

Youll provide services to approximately 50-60 students, with delivery models including individual sessions, small groups, and push-in supporttailored to each students IEP needs. Session frequency ranges from weekly to monthly (30 minutes per session), giving you flexibility to address a variety of goals in both academic and functional skills. Your day will typically run from 7:45 am to 3:45 pm across four different school sites, adding variety to your week and broadening your professional impact.

Qualifications:

• Valid Alabama Occupational Therapy license and certification (documentation required)
• Experience in school-based OT strongly preferred
• Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
• Ability to work both independently and within interdisciplinary teams
• Comfortable traveling to multiple locations during the week
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver occupational therapy interventions per student IEPs in individual, small group, and classroom settings
• Collaborate closely with educators, administrators, and families to maximize student participation and achievement
• Maintain detailed, accurate records and comprehensive progress documentation
• Contribute expert recommendations during IEP meetings and team collaborations
• Adapt treatment plans to the dynamic needs and environments within schools
