School-Based Occupational Therapist (OT) – Greater Dallas-Fort Worth Area, TX
We are seeking a dedicated School-Based Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team in the Greater Dallas-Fort Worth area. This full-time, on-site role focuses on supporting students with diverse needs, helping them develop essential skills for success in the classroom and daily activities.
Position Details:
- Location: Schools across the Greater DFW area
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, school hours (typically 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM, based on district needs)
- Start Date: Immediate openings or per the school calendar
- Duration: Full academic year with potential renewal
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students with various needs, including fine motor delays, sensory processing challenges, and physical disabilities
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine eligibility and therapy goals
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to integrate therapy strategies into the school setting
- Utilize adaptive equipment and assistive technology to enhance student independence
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state and federal special education guidelines
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Texas OT License (or eligibility to obtain)
- Preferred experience in school-based or pediatric therapy
- Strong understanding of IEP development, special education laws, and best therapy practices
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
