Occupational Therapist School Setting in Trussville, AL

Make a meaningful impact supporting students across multiple schools as a contract Occupational Therapist! This role offers the opportunity to engage with diverse caseloads and collaborate with educational teams, all within a structured school-day schedule.

With immediate openings through the end of the school year, youll serve approximately 50-60 students at each of four locations. Responsibilities include implementing individualized and small-group therapy sessions, delivering direct and consultative occupational therapy services, and adapting flexible, push-in models based on student needs and IEP goals. Sessions are typically scheduled for 30 minutes and vary in frequency (weekly, twice a month, or monthly) as outlined in student plans.

Key Qualifications:

• Active and current Occupational Therapy license and certification specific to Alabama
• Previous pediatric or school-based OT experience strongly preferred
• Ability to manage a varied caseload with exceptional organization skills
• Adept at collaborating within multidisciplinary teams
• Committed to providing services on-site, as teletherapy (Voco) is not permitted for this opportunity
• Proof of licensure/certification required

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and contribute to IEP development
• Deliver services to students individually or in small groups, both within classrooms and designated therapy spaces
• Document interventions, progress, and session notes within the required timelines
• Communicate effectively with staff, administration, and families

The schedule runs Monday through Friday, 7:45 am to 3:45 pm, and the contract continues through June 10. Support and resources for successful onboarding will be provided.
