Occupational Therapist School Setting in Vado, NM

We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist, with an option to consider Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, to support schools for the full academic year ending in May 2027. This is a contract opportunity involving travel between multiple school locations, working with students of all ages and backgrounds.

As you support students growth and achievement, youll supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and collaborate closely with educational teams. The position promises professional variety as you engage with diverse student needs, ranging from initial assessments to ongoing intervention. Candidates must have an active New Mexico state OT license (NMRLD) and NMPED educator certification (which can be acquired quickly if you act promptly).

What Were Looking For:

• Active New Mexico OT licensure (NMRLD)
• Current NMPED certification (or ability to secure before start)
• Willingness and ability to travel between multiple local schools
• Experience supervising or willingness to supervise COTAs
• Background supporting children and adolescents in a school environment
• Flexibility, strong communication skills, and a collaborative spirit

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver school-based OT services across all student age groups
• Supervise and support COTA staff
• Travel locally between school sites to meet students needs
• Perform assessments, develop intervention plans, and document progress
• Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and families to promote student success
