Step into a pivotal role as a full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supporting students across a dynamic educational setting from Pre-K through 12th grade. This contract position offers enriching opportunities to make a meaningful difference while covering a district-wide FMLA leave with the possibility of extension.

In this assignment, youll collaborate closely with diverse educational teams to deliver school-based occupational therapy services. Your expertise will empower students to access the curriculum and maximize participation in school activities. Youll create and implement individualized treatment plans, monitor and document progress, and foster independence for learners with a wide range of needs. If selected as a COTA, youll receive ongoing support under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. The position involves 77.5-hour workdays, with scheduling details to follow. Please note this opportunity is intended for candidates fully committed to a maternity leave assignment, with an initial contract period through February 2027 and strong likelihood for extension, though not guaranteed.

Qualifications:

  • Active Connecticut OT license, or CT DPH-licensed/credentialed COTA with NBCOT certification
  • Previous experience in school settings preferred
  • Experience working with Pre-K12th grade students and diverse disabilities is beneficial
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Comfortable supporting district-wide services

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students
  • Collaborate with educators and support teams to integrate therapy into learning environments
  • Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and treatment outcomes
  • Participate in IEP meetings and develop appropriate, student-centered interventions
  • Support transitions and help students reach functional goals
