What You'll Be Doing:

As a Contract School Occupational Therapist in this supportive Virginia district, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive evaluations of students' fine motor, gross motor, sensory processing, and functional skills to identify areas of need.
  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other school professionals.
  • Providing direct and indirect therapy services to students, both individually and in groups, to address their specific goals.
  • Adapting activities and the environment to promote student participation and independence in educational tasks.
  • Consulting with teachers and staff to integrate therapeutic strategies into the classroom setting.
  • Providing professional development and training to school personnel on topics related to occupational therapy.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant information.
  • Participating in IEP meetings and contributing valuable insights regarding students' functional abilities and needs.
  • Collaborating effectively with related service providers, such as physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and school psychologists, to ensure a holistic approach to student support.

Compensation and Requirements:

We are offering the average competitive hourly rate of $47-$55 based on experience for this contract school Occupational Therapist position.

  • A current and active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the state of Virginia.
  • Prior schools-based experience is preferred, demonstrating a strong understanding of the educational setting and the unique needs of students within it.
