Instructional Assistant - Allentown, PA

Seeking dedicated professionals to support students as paraprofessionals and instructional assistants in Lehigh County for the 2026-2027 school year, with immediate openings available. Assignments are primarily in functional or behavioral Multiple Disabilities Support (MDS) classrooms, with placements at various schools. Assignments follow the school calendar and range from 29 to 35 hours per week. In-person interviews are required, and positions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis upon completion of onboarding and credentialing.

Key Qualifications:

• At least one years experience as a paraprofessional, instructional assistant, or similar special education role in a school setting.
• Meet at least one of the following:
  • 48+ college credits,
  • Associate degree (or higher),
  • Successful completion of a state/local paraeducator assessment.
• Willingness to obtain PA paraprofessional certification within 60 days of hire if not currently held.
• Two strong references from paraprofessional supervisors.
• Ability to work a school-day schedule between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM.
• Comfortable supporting students with significant behavioral and personal care needs, which may include lifting, toileting, and feeding.
• Live within a 30-35 minute commute of Lehigh County schools.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities:

• Assist students in daily classroom activities and provide one-on-one or small group instruction.
• Support teachers with instructional and behavioral interventions.
• Help to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Provide physical and personal care as needed.
• Foster a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
• Adapt quickly to changing assignments or classroom needs.
