Job Duties
- Support Classroom Activities: Assist in the implementation of instructional programs and activities designed by the teacher. Provide support during large group and small group activities to ensure all students are engaged and participating.
- Create a Positive Environment: Help maintain a joyful and inclusive classroom atmosphere where every child feels valued and supported.
- Assist with Daily Living Skills: Aid students with diapering, toileting, hygiene, and other daily living habits, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Individualized Support: Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students with special needs, adapting activities to meet their individual requirements.
- Behavioral Support: Monitor and support positive behavior in the classroom, following the teacher's guidance and school policies.
- Communication: Collaborate with the classroom teacher and other staff members to ensure consistent and effective communication regarding student progress and needs.
- Safety and Supervision: Ensure the safety and supervision of students at all times, both in the classroom and during other school activities.
- Education: Associate’s degree or higher OR
- Certifications: A passing ParaPro test score
- Experience: Previous experience working with young children, particularly those with special needs, is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
- Must be okay with toileting students
