Special Education Para Professional in Cibolo, TX

Make a real impact supporting students in a vibrant educational setting as an American Sign Language (ASL) paraprofessional. This contract opportunity involves serving one school, with a likely focus on students at Mission Academy, all within a short drive in San Antonios dynamic community. Work directly with 40 students across secondary age groups, providing key support to learners with hearing loss and contributing to a positive, accessible learning environment. On-site presence is required, and interviews are scheduled for the last week of October.

Your experience in classroom support, ASL fluency, and sensitivity to students individual needs will be valued as you collaborate closely with educators.

Qualifications:

• An associates degree or higher, or
• Minimum of 48 college semester hours recognized by a Texas or regional education agency, plus completion of the paraeducator course via Stedi.org (70%+ score), or
• Experience working with pediatric or school-based children with hearing loss
• Preferred: Bachelors degree
• Able to complete time-sensitive fingerprinting and background requirements prior to start
• Reliable transportation for travel between sites if needed

Responsibilities:

• Provide ASL interpretation and classroom support for up to 40 students (10 at Highlands High School, 30 at Mission Academy)
• Facilitate communication and accessible classroom participation
• Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to meet students educational goals
• Adapt communication techniques to student needs and developmental levels
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions
