As a teaching assistant, youll provide essential classroom support, with particular emphasis on working one-on-one with a student managing diabetes. This position is designed for those who thrive in active, engaging school environments and are passionate about supporting the needs of students with diverse challenges.

What Were Looking For:

• Valid Illinois Paraprofessional certification
• Previous experience working with elementary-age children, especially those displaying challenging behaviors
• Strong adaptability and problem-solving skills in a bustling classroom atmosphere
• Experience with, or willingness to assist with, student toileting as needed
• Comfortable in a 1:1 support role and lending a hand during various learning activities

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with teachers to maintain effective classroom management and instructional support
• Provide individual support to students, especially for a student managing diabetes
• Assist during a variety of classroom and learning activities
• Offer help with personal care, including toileting, when necessary

This full-time position spans Monday through Friday (35 hours per week), and includes a supportive schedule with a 30-minute unpaid lunch and two unpaid 15-minute breaks each day.
