Special Education Para Professional in Coventry, RI

Step into a supportive school community and make a real impact as a contract paraprofessional working in an intensive elementary classroom setting. This is an onsite position with a start as soon as possible, extending through June 18, 2027, offering consistent weekday hours of approximately 31.25 per week. Youll be part of a collaborative group assisting students from kindergarten through 3rd grade with a range of disabilitiesincluding language needs and autism spectrum disorderin a classroom with 11 children and six other rotating teacher assistants.

Key Qualifications:

• Experience in a school environment preferred
• Ability to meet current Rhode Island Department of Education criteria to work as a paraprofessional
• Comfortable providing assistance with toileting and diaper changing
• Experience or familiarity with supporting students with varied disabilities (including ASD)
• Willingness to work closely within a dynamic, supportive classroom team

Primary Responsibilities:

• Directly support the educational and daily living needs of elementary-aged students
• Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and managing classroom activities
• Provide individualized attention to students in both group and one-on-one settings
• Help foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment and ensure student safety
• Support with toileting, diapering, and other adaptive needs as required
