Classroom Assistant | Donaldsonville, Louisiana

Step into a meaningful role providing dedicated support as a school paraprofessional, working one-on-one with an elementary student onsite. You'll work at a supportive campus from 8am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday, for a total of 35 hours each week. This contract position runs through the end of the school year, giving you the opportunity to make a real impact in a classroom setting.

What we're seeking:

• Previous experience in schools or working closely with children, particularly those with behavioral needs
• Ability to build rapport, demonstrate patience, and adapt to various learning and behavioral styles
• Reliable attendance and a collaborative mindset
• Strong communication skills for interacting with teachers, staff, and students
• High School Diploma or GED (post-secondary coursework is a plus)
• Willingness to work exclusively onsite with a single student

Key responsibilities:

• Provide individualized support to a designated elementary student throughout the school day
• Assist with classroom participation, transitions, and following routines
• Implement behavior and instructional strategies as directed by classroom teacher and support staff
• Promote a positive, inclusive environment and reinforce expectations
• Foster independence and encourage social integration
• Maintain accurate, timely records and share observations with the instructional team
• Ensure student safety and well-being at all times
