Blazer Jobs is working with a dedicated school district in Lapeer, Michigan, to hire a full-time Paraprofessional / Special Education Aide for the upcoming 2025–2026 academic year. Job Description:
This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with approximately 7-hour workdays. The contract will run from August 19, 2025, through June 5, 2026, aligning with the 2025–2026 school year. You will work under the guidance of certified teachers and special education staff to help implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and provide daily classroom and one-on-one support.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist students with classroom tasks, behavior management, and communication
Support students in both academic and functional life skills
Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other school staff
Provide support during transitions, meals, and toileting (if required)
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Must meet district or state paraprofessional requirements (such as passing the Parapro Assessment or having an associate’s degree – if applicable)
Previous experience working with students or individuals with disabilities is strongly preferred
Ability to follow directions and remain patient, positive, and flexible
