Instructional Assistant - Lapeer, Michigan

In this full-time opportunity (37.5 hours per week), your compassion and commitment will be essential. Schedules may vary depending on building assignment, with hours from 7:15am-3:15pm or 8:15am-4:15pm. As a paraprofessional, you may assist students with daily tasks, including health aide responsibilities for those with cognitive challenges.

To be considered, paraprofessionals in programs supported by Title I funds must meet one of the following qualifications:

• At least 60 semester hours of college credit (provide official university transcripts)
• An associate degree or higher
• ETS Parapro Assessment score of at least 460
• College Board SAT score of 480 or higher on evidence-based reading/writing and 530 or higher on math

Additional desired qualities and skills:

• Experience supporting students in special education or general classrooms is a plus
• Openness to work in a variety of educational settings and with diverse student needs
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with educators and families
• Comfort with assisting students in daily living activities such as toileting or diapering
