Position Overview:

BlazerJobs is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Paraprofessional to join a school in New Orleans. In this role, you will assist teachers in supporting students’ learning needs, managing classroom activities, and ensuring a positive and inclusive environment. You will be instrumental in helping students succeed academically and socially by providing essential support both inside and outside the classroom.

Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers with daily classroom activities and lesson delivery

• Provide individualized support to students as needed, including those with special needs

• Help manage classroom behavior and ensure a positive learning environment

• Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to reinforce lessons

• Monitor students during non-instructional times, such as lunch or recess

• Assist with preparing materials, setting up lessons, and maintaining classroom organization

• Communicate effectively with teachers and staff to track student progress and needs

• Adapt instructional materials and tasks to meet the needs of diverse learners

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or higher preferred)

• Prior experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with students and staff

• Patience, flexibility, and a passion for supporting student success

• Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with a teaching team

• Familiarity with classroom technology is a plus
