Instructional Assistant - Newark, DE

This contract position offers the unique opportunity to provide essential programmatic support across Kindergarten classrooms in an elementary school in the Wilmington area. Key Qualifications:

• Active Delaware Paraeducator Permit is required at the time of application (pending permits accepted with proof/screenshot from the DEEDS portal).
• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar support role within a school setting is highly valued.
• Must be proactive and comfortable assisting with a variety of classroom tasks school-wide.
• Clear communication and a team-oriented approach.
• Candidates must be aware they will need to complete a state-required fingerprint background check at their own expense.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Providing programmatic and instructional support across multiple Kindergarten classrooms.
• Assisting lead teachers in the implementation of lesson plans and managing classroom activities.
• Encouraging student engagement and fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Supporting the physical, social, and emotional needs of students throughout the school day.
• Aiding with classroom setup, transitions, and other logistical tasks as necessary.

This role is Monday through Friday, totaling 35 hours per week with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, and is scheduled for roughly 60 days from the start date.
