Instructional Assistant - Norristown, Pennsylvania

These contract opportunities place you in dynamic school environments across Quakertown, Levittown, and Perkasie, filling urgent openings driven by ongoing turnover. You will work with students exhibiting moderate to high-intensity needs, including those with severe autism, aggressive or self-injurious behaviors, and complex safety concerns.

Role Highlights:

• Work 37.5 hours/week, MondayFriday, with availability for shifts between 6:45 AM and 4:01 PM as determined by student assignment
• Mandatory onboarding orientation week (8:30 AM 4:30 PM) in the main IU building prior to placement
• Ongoing assignment through June 2027, with placements based on the timing of onboarding completion
• Serve in one-to-one or small group settings, implementing safety interventions and supporting daily self-care tasks

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a school-based special education paraprofessional role working with children with severe autism and behavioral needs, clearly documented on resume
• Must meet at least one Pennsylvania state paraprofessional qualification requirement OR obtain certification within 60 days of hire (details provided upon request)
• Comfortable with hands-on duties such as assisting with toileting, feeding, transfers, and actively supporting students throughout the day
• Ability to remain poised and responsive when supporting aggressive or self-injurious behaviors
• Live within 35 minutes of assignment area and own reliable transportation
• Available to meet full-time schedule requirements (7:30 AM3:00 PM or 8:00 AM3:30 PM)
