Schedule:

• School-Age Programs: 35 hours/week

• Early Intervention Programs: 29 hours/week

Position Overview:

Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit is hiring 20 Paraprofessionals to support students in both school-age and early intervention programs across Carbon and Lehigh Counties for the 2025–2026 school year. These are onsite positions that involve working closely with special education teachers and support staff to meet student needs in inclusive and specialized settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic, behavioral, and physical support to students

• Assist with instructional activities under teacher supervision

• Support students in classroom, small group, and individual settings

• Implement accommodations and modifications as outlined in student plans

• Ensure student safety and engagement throughout the day

• Communicate effectively with school staff and administrators

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)

• Experience working with children in educational settings (preferred)

• Ability to support students with varying physical, emotional, and cognitive needs

• Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills

Special Requirements:

• All PA Department of Education (PA DOE) clearances must be completed within 14 days of hire

• (Criminal Background, Child Abuse, FBI Fingerprint, etc.)

Compensation:

Competitive hourly rates based on experience and program assignment. Benefits eligibility based on hours worked and IU policies.
