Desired Skills and Background:

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required.
• High school diploma is required; willing to provide your high school or college transcripts if hired.
• Previous experience working in a school setting is essential.
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and students in a diverse educational environment.
• Supportive, patient, and adaptable communication style.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate communication for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing using ASL.
• Assist classroom teachers with instructional tasks and classroom management.
• Support student learning and participation across academic and social activities.
• Encourage independence and self-advocacy among students.
• Maintain a collaborative approach with educators, specialists, and families.
