Job Description – School-Based PTA

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in implementing therapy programs for students in a K–12 school setting

• Support students in improving mobility, strength, and coordination

• Collaborate with educators, therapists, and parents to track student progress

• Maintain accurate documentation and follow school and district protocols

• Comply with IEP goals and help students achieve functional independence

State and Federal Requirements – Virginia

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

• Active Virginia PTA license through the Virginia Board of Physical Therapy

• Compliance with all school district onboarding requirements, including background checks and TB screening

• Adherence to all federal guidelines under IDEA and HIPAA
