School Registered Nurse (RN) in Arlington Heights, IL

This contract opportunity, based near Arlington Heights, IL, is ideal for a compassionate RN or LPN committed to delivering quality care to a medically fragile child at Winkelman Elementary. Anticipate a predictable schedule from 7:50 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a 40-minute unpaid lunch break, aligned with student attendance days. Youll have the chance to foster a safe and supportive learning environment through your nursing expertise, working directly with school staff and families.

Qualifications:

• Active RN or LPN license in Illinois
• Current CPR and BLS certifications
• Experience supporting medically fragile children preferred
• Ability to provide attentive 1:1 nursing care in a school setting
• Professional communication and strong collaboration skills
• Ability to commit to the full contract, from ASAP through June 4, 2027

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver ongoing, specialized 1:1 nursing support for an assigned student throughout the school day
• Administer medication, monitor vital signs, and manage health protocols as needed
• Maintain detailed, confidential records of nursing care and interventions
• Coordinate care with educational staff, families, and healthcare providers
• Act as a proactive, supportive presence within the students daily routine and school environment
• Ensure health and safety protocols are upheld while supporting student participation in classroom activities
