As a School Nurse (LPN), you'll serve as the front line of health services in a K–12 school environment. From administering daily medications to supporting emergency care and chronic condition management, your expertise ensures students remain healthy and focused on learning.
Deliver first aid and manage on-site health concerns
Administer medications and maintain dosage schedules
Monitor students with chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, seizures)
Create and implement Individual Health Plans (IHPs) with parents and healthcare providers
Maintain accurate, confidential health records
Promote public health practices, hygiene, and disease prevention
Support school health initiatives, screenings, and emergency drills
Required:
Active LPN license in the state of Illinois
Current CPR/BLS certification
Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program
Excellent interpersonal and record-keeping skills
Ability to work independently within a school environment
Preferred:
Prior experience in pediatric nursing, school health, or community/public health
Familiarity with IEPs, 504 Plans, and IHPs
