Registered Nurse School Setting - Boston, MA

Step into a rewarding contract assignment supporting students with complex medical needs as a school nurse for the 2026-2027 academic year near Boston, MA. Youll make a vital difference each morning by ensuring a safe, caring ride to school for a group of exceptional students ranging from 3 to 21 years old, each with unique healthcare needs.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Massachusetts LPN or RN license required
• At least one year of relevant nursing experience, preferably in a pediatric or school setting
• Confidence and skill in monitoring and supporting students with g-tubes, seizure disorders, and oxygen requirements
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergencies (experience with Valtoco, EpiPens, suctioning, and oxygen administration a plus)
• Excellent communication and observation skills
• Compassionate, detail-oriented, and reliable, with a genuine interest in supporting students with special needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Accompany students on the morning school bus route, beginning at 6:15 AM from the Virginia Barton Education Center, concluding around 7:45 AM each day
• Closely monitor student health conditions, medication needs (including PRN Valtoco), and emergency protocols during transit
• Provide hands-on support with equipment such as g-tubes, oxygen saturation monitors, wheelchairs, and suctioning devices as needed
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all students under your care
• Maintain thorough, confidential documentation and communicate any concerns to the appropriate school staff
