As a School Nurse in Coventry, you’ll be the first point of contact for student health concerns. From managing chronic conditions to addressing daily health needs and emergencies, your work will help ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct care and first aid for student injuries or illnesses
Monitor and support students with chronic health needs (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies)
Maintain accurate and confidential health records in line with Rhode Island state guidelines
Collaborate on development and implementation of IHPs, 504 Plans, and IEPs
Serve as a health education resource for students, staff, and families
Participate in school safety, wellness, and emergency preparedness initiatives
Required:
Active RN license in Rhode Island
Current CPR and First Aid certification
Strong communication skills and professional discretion
Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
Previous experience in school, pediatric, or public health nursing
Familiarity with education-related health plans and school health regulations
Bilingual (particularly Spanish or Portuguese) is a plus
