This contract position offers an engaging chance to join an enthusiastic team with a supportive administrative and office staff. As the primary health office manager, you will be vital in ensuring student well-being, actively participating in medical reviews, and supporting students health needs throughout each school day.

Ideal candidates are BSN-prepared Registered Nurses who are ready to obtain IEP Designee approval promptly and are committed to becoming a Certified School Nurse within 12 years. If you arent yet a CSN, youll be expected to pursue Short-Term School Nurse Approval this year and start coursework toward your Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Nurse Endorsement through a recognized program. The workday runs from 7:40 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Active RN license in Illinois
  • Commitment to obtaining Short-Term School Nurse Approval and pursuing CSN coursework
  • Willingness to commit through the full school year
  • IEP Designee approval (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience working with children or in school settings strongly preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish and previous CSN experience are significant pluses
  • Comfort with technology and electronic health record systems

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the school health office, including daily care and medication administration
  • Perform medical reviews and document all healthcare provided
  • Participate in IEP and 504 plan processes, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy
  • Support students with health or occasional personal care needs
  • Collaborate closely with administrators, staff, and other nurses
  • Step in where needed, demonstrating flexibility and strong teamwork
