As the School Nurse, you’ll serve as the first point of contact for student health needs—whether managing medications, supporting chronic conditions, or offering basic first aid. Your role is critical in keeping classrooms safe, healthy, and focused on learning.

? Core Responsibilities:

• Administer prescribed and as-needed medications

• Deliver first aid and respond to health incidents during the school day

• Monitor students with chronic illnesses like asthma, epilepsy, and diabetes

• Develop and update Individual Health Plans (IHPs) in partnership with families and medical providers

• Maintain accurate and confidential health records in compliance with Georgia school health regulations

• Educate students and staff on hygiene, illness prevention, and healthy habits

• Support emergency preparedness and school health programs

? Requirements

Required:

• Valid LPN license in the state of Georgia

• CPR/BLS certification

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program

• Strong communication and time-management skills

• Able to work independently and respond calmly in emergency situations

Preferred:

• Prior experience in pediatrics, school health, or community nursing

• Familiarity with IEPs, 504 Plans, and care coordination
