Registered Nurse School Setting in Orland Park, IL

As a full-time Registered Nurse, you will provide comprehensive school nursing services at a single campus near Orland Park, IL. Skills and Experience Sought:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois is required
• Experience in a school setting is preferred but not mandatory
• Willingness to articulate your interest in transitioning from clinical to school nursing, if applicable
• Clear understanding and acceptance that compensation for school nursing differs from clinical roles
• Ability to verify comfort with commuting to and working at the Waukegan campus location
• Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for working with children in grades K-8
• Adept at responding to everyday student health needs, medication administration, and emergency care

Primary Responsibilities:

• Promote the health, safety, and emotional well-being of students within the school community
• Assess and treat minor injuries or illnesses, manage chronic health concerns, and respond to emergencies
• Develop care plans, administer medications, and maintain detailed health records in accordance with state regulations
• Collaborate with educators, staff, and families to address students health needs and participate in care planning
• Educate students and staff on health topics and prevention strategies relevant to the school setting
