If you are not yet a CSN, a willingness to pursue the required Short-Term Approval this yearand to work toward obtaining a PEL via a university programis essential.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Nurse Endorsement (CSN), or strong commitment to achieving this within 12 years
• Experience in school nursing and fluency in Spanish are highly valued
• Strong technological proficiency for EHR documentation and managing electronic components of IEP/504 plans
• Ability to manage the health office independently and provide support for students personal care needs
• Exceptional reliability, flexibility, and a team-oriented attitude

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day operations of the health office for a middle school population
• Complete medical evaluations and maintain accurate student health records
• Participate in IEP and 504 meetings, providing expert health insights
• Support students physical and health care needs, including on occasion direct personal care assistance
• Collaborate with the school team to build a safe and supportive environment
