School RN - Registered Nurse

Now Hiring: Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) – School-Based

Location: Tampa, Florida | Full-Time | Contract Position

Blazer Jobs, in partnership with school districts across the Tampa, FL area, is currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a supportive educational team. This full-time contract role is school-based, serving students and staff with essential health services throughout the academic day.

Requirements & Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet all state and local requirements, including:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida

• Current CPR and First Aid certification

• Must pass all Florida Department of Education background checks, including fingerprinting

• Experience in a school, pediatric, or special education setting (strongly preferred)

• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and families

Typical Job Responsibilities:

• Provide routine and emergency medical care to students and staff

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed

• Monitor students with chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, asthma, epilepsy)

• Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with district policies

• Collaborate with school staff, parents, and health professionals to develop care plans

• Promote health education and disease prevention within the school community

• Assist with health screenings and immunization tracking

• Respond to school-based health emergencies and develop safety protocols

• Travel between schools (if needed) within the district
